Good to know

  • IRA contributions for a tax year can be made until the tax-filing deadline the following April.
  • 401(k) contributions must come out of paychecks during the calendar year.
  • If you change jobs mid-year, the employee limit applies across all of your 401(k) plans combined.
  • Starting in 2026, workplace catch-ups must be Roth if your prior-year wages from that employer were over $150,000.
